IPAY is raising $8,500 for our Artist Development Fund, to support the Colleen Toohey Porter Residency
We've raised $3,000 of our $8,500 goal!
IPAY believes that young people’s lives can be changed through excellence in the performing arts. Excellence requires nurturing, development and support from the community. These are the goals of IPAY’s annual Colleen Toohey Porter Residency. Our Artist Development Fund supports the residency program, which provides opportunities for two early career artists-in-residence per year.
After a very successful Artist Development Fund Raffle at Showcase 2019, we’re well on our way towards our annual goal of $8,500 in support of mentorship and development of our resident artists.
Please help us continue supporting the development of excellence in performing arts for young people.

The Colleen Porter Artist Development Fund pays tribute to the life and work of an innovative, influential and generous member of the IPAY community by nurturing emerging artists in the field of performing arts for young audiences. This award advances the professional growth and development, at an international level, of North American based professional artists through mentorship, and the participation in creative residencies.
The award was created in remembrance of Colleen Porter, a leading visionary in the field of performing for young people, who was a tireless advocate for artists and for the transformative power of the performing arts.
Through this distinguished honor, Colleen's innovative, generous, and nurturing spirit will live on in the artists of the future.
MORE ABOUT THE COLLEEN PORTER RESIDENCY
Your contribution goes directly to the year-long residency program and helps to cover the costs of bringing the selected artists to two consecutive IPAY Showcases, a two-year IPAY membership, ongoing mentorship and a two-week internship at Aprilfestival in Denmark (supported by Teatercentrum, DK).
The residency was created to nurture early career artists dedicated to creating performing arts for young audiences. Through this program, we seek to inspire and broaden awareness of the global sector and provide opportunities to make tangible, life-long connections to this vital ecosystem.
We take confidence in having former Porter Resident Artists returning to Showcase as valued, participating members of the community. At Showcase 2019 we were honoured to have 2019 Porter Resident, Danica Rosengren lead the SPARK Pre-Conference keynote session; 2018 Porter Resident, Mélissa Smith sharing experiences from touring and traveling with her new work; 2017 Porter Resident, Amanda Pintore co-leading a Masterclass workshop with Swedish choreographer Claire Parsons; and 2016 Porter Resident, Dominic Moore-Dunson, lead a Kindling workshop as well as take to the stage for an official Showcase with Inlet Dance Theatre. We see the enormous value of supporting these artists through their connections within the community and their many individual accomplishments.
