CultureCrew Pilot at Showcase 2020
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TEATERCENTRUM
Members of IPAY are creating, producing, promoting and touring performances for young audiences all over the world. We come together annually in January to see new shows, share best practices, program our seasons, and build the future of performance for youth together. This year, IPAY will begin the critical work of making space and giving voice to those we make art for - young people!
Inspired by Teatercentrum's KulturCrew program in Denmark, members of IPAY’s CultureCrew Pilot will see live performances at Showcase 2020, engage in conversations with international arts professionals, and help envision ways for young people to be part of IPAY’s future! IPAY is thrilled to offer CultureCrew for the first time as an opportunity for young people in the greater Philadelphia area to learn about international arts and culture, gain leadership and critical thinking skills, and build their capacities as entrepreneurial thinkers.

Approximately 30 young people, ages 12-18, will travel from high schools all over Philadelphia and from Cedarbrook Middle School in Cheltenham School District to participate in the first year of CultureCrew.

We want to receive unfiltered opinions from individual young people. After participating in Showcase 2020, CultureCrew members will engage in conversation about their perspective on our event, the performing arts productions they have experienced, and how they think they could participate as creative partners in what we do.
We envision that IPAY’s Philadelphia pilot of CultureCrew will provide a framework for other organizations to adapt across the United States, centering young people themselves as critical to the arts and culture landscape of their city.
