Vertical Influences is a contemporary ice-skating double-bill by the Canadian company Le Patin Libre. It was founded by top-level figure skaters who wanted to escape the kitsch and sparkles of the ‘On Ice’ industry. In Influences, the artists-athletes explore how our body language can subtly change others. In Vertical, audiences witness a pure and intense glide performance up close, with seating on the ice. “A pure body rush of liberation and space” (The Guardian, 2014). “The attitude and energy of street dance with all the speed and elegance of a flock of birds” (Festmag, 2015).

At her new school she is the only person wearing a hijab. The play's focus is on judgement of differences through the eyes of a recent immigrant, as well as those of a young man who has a violent reputation.

To begin with, you follow a little pathway of shells that goes around a big tent made of sheets. They want you to come and see, so you go in. When you’re inside the tent it’s very pleasant. A little melody makes your heart beat more calmly. The light is gentle, like that of the setting sun. A tall man is dreaming of the sea. He makes sand appear, then turtles, seagulls and fish, and then dune grass, the sky, boats and time passes. Beside him, another tall man makes music and lets his voice float out over the ocean.

Davis has been called, “An Ambassador of the Blues”. As a performer for children and family programs, Guy has traveled the globe from the Equator to the northern Arctic. He has performed residencies for Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Annenberg Center, and other programs from coast-to-coast and overseas. Guy’s proudest project was being involved with the I Will Be Your Friend: Songs and Activities for Young Peacemakers for the Southern Poverty Law Center. Guy contributed the title track to this collection of songs and classroom projects that help teach diversity and understanding as part of the national ‘Teaching Tolerance’ campaign.

Using puppetry, animation and live performance and featuring original music by acclaimed composer Rachael Dease, they deliver a grand epic western about redemption and dementia. An old man wanders into the wild. As the sun sets, he is swept up in a surreal western, on the run from a mysterious tracker hell-bent on hunting him down. It’s Dark Outside is “a rare triumph of theatrical ingenuity and human compassion” (The West Australian).
